The second prompt for the CCP Salon Instagram Project is Horizons. And this is my response to it.

“We all live under the same sky, but we don’t all have the same horizon.” - Konrad Adenauer.

Konrad Hermann Josef Adenauer (January 5, 1876 – April 19, 1967) was a German statesman. I think we can interpret his quote in many ways, but in Wikiquote, it explained “In an instant age, perhaps we must relearn the ancient truth that patience, too, has its victories.”

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this prompt was I have to either go to a beach and photograph out at the sea, or reach the highest point (mountain or high rise building) to complete this prompt. But then, I realise that everyone will have their own interpretation, a frog in a well will always think the horizon is round, just like this seagull will have a different view of the horizon than myself. I would also interpret this quote in a way that the 10 Instagrammers participating in this project have the same camera, but what we create will be different due to space, life and time. And it’s always interesting to see what others can create in a different environment.

You are encouraged to post your response to the prompt on Instagram with this hashtag #diyccpsalon and do tag @ccp_australia as well as #leica_australia. You can use any camera for your response. Have fun!
